“How we met”

In the summer of 2018 Adam and I volunteered at Camp Wapiyapi- a summer camp for kids and their siblings affected by pediatric cancers. At camp, some of the campers were actively receiving cancer treatments, therefore for every one camper there was one counsellor. Adam and I have never been to camp before, never been counsellors before, so it was very outside of our comfort zones to be counsellors at a sleep away camp for an entire week and with no cellphone service! Adam was on the purple team and caught my eye right away with how sweet he was with his camper, Cash, and how well he clicked with my camper, Lucy. After camp had ended, all of the camp counsellors went and got food/beers in town where Adam and I talked for FOUR hours. We ended up being the last people in the restaurant before we went home and headed our separate ways- him back to Boulder, and me back to Denver. I fully thought I would never see Adam again and just thought he was a cool person... but it took all of two days before we made plans to go on our first date to Adam's family cabin in Estes Park that following weekend. It was an instant connection, and we haven't looked back since!
